Let's count the horror cliches

- Strangulation with a plastic bag, which can easily be avoided by just poking a hole in it. (Although that wasn't real, so it's halfwar excusable)
- Car won't start
- Cut telephone lines (and of course it's set decades ago, when they only had phones like that)
- The villain is actually just a split personality of one of the good characters (God, I'm so sick of that one)

Still, it was a pretty great horror movie, I enjoyed it. And that creepy theme song, simple as it was, was just amazing.

You saw it before Halloween, That's awesome.

I saw the REC trilogy and ATTACK THE BLOCK for the Halloween season.

Horror movies to me aren't much if they don't have cliche's. This movie was full of them
1) Blood squirting out of the neck.
2) Grimy Rusty Prisoner Chains.
3) Axe across the chest (THE SHINING, MY BLOODY VALENTINE)
4) Running with the Chainsaw across the Forest
5) Scary Road Horror chase beginning with "rear end" hit.

I love this movie.

Haven't seen it in a while, Can't watch it now because I loaned it to a friend.
will have to wait.

Major spoilers coming up:

The movie itself is pretty much Marie telling a story. She took what she knew from movies and whatnot and made up a fictional murderer to blame the murders on, hence the cliches. Let's be honest: if you were creating a story about a murderer, what would you draw from?

You left out Psycho Lesbian, which is so prominent that it has its own TV Trope page.
