This is one of the most dumbest movies in the history of cinema

SPOILERS.

I'm just gonna get straight to the point, the main characters get their minds erased so that they don't remember their former lovers. And at the very end they still find each other and decide to give the relationship another go, we see them running around and laughing with each other at the very end. It all seems great, but let me tell you something, if we don't have bad memories how are we ever going to learn from our mistakes? The 2 main characters will end up repeating the same mistakes that they made before because they haven't learned due to having their memories wiped away.

It may be emotionally painful, but bad memories have a positive aspect which is to learn from our mistakes and not repeat them. Clem and Joel will continuously go through a vicious cycle of making the same mistakes over and over again.

As a Brit i know that Kate Winslet can do better than this piece of crap pointless movie, i don't know why she accepted that role.

She was nominated for an Oscar for this role...

I'm not saying that her performance was bad, bro. I'm saying the movie storyline is illogical.

The film's theme isn't based on learning from one's mistakes. It doesn't even dispute that notion.

The film is saying that there is no eternal sunshine of the spotless mind. It shows that it is not right to erase the mistakes of the past for the yearning of happiness, because it does not ultimately bring happiness (or eternal sunshine) but instead emptiness.

Is it as dumb as writing "most dumbest"?

reply

Lol! Right?

reply

lol the retarded OP gave this a 1 out of 10. What a f[uckwit haha.

You either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain.

reply

You have completely misunderstood the point of the film.

And that's ok. You don't get it. It is not at all about any of the things you speak to here.

Perhaps you can't get it. Not everyone gets everything. I know I don't. But I do get this.

It's a great film that transcends.

You also said "most dumbest," so is it really for you to judge?

The issue was that they both felt pain and don't care about learning from mistakes. At the end when they're together, they don't remember they even went through the procedure to begin with.
