Is this a chick flick?

Yes, it is a chick flick. This movie made me cringe more than any other romantic comedy movies I've seen...and I am a girl.

It's definitely a cookie cutter, chick flick, plot. The friend zone guy pines over a gal who's smitten with a guy who's pretty much a self centered jerk and using her to redeem his bad boy image. She fails to recognize the affection the friend zone guy has for her, opting for her infatuation with and the glamour of the bad boy guy. The friend zone guy, who's in competition with the bad boy guy for her affections, repeatedly tries to intervene. He warns her to be careful but she's immaturishly naive about the bad boy guy's intentions. Having taken the bait that the bad boy guy wants to change, she completely dismisses the affections of the friend zone guy, while becoming romantically involved with the bad boy guy. Convinced that he has to finally make no secret of how he feels about her, the friend zone guy goes to her. He kisses her and tells her that he loves her and that he always has but she rejects him. Finally, after discovering that she had been somewhat deceived by the bad boy guy, she has an epiphany; realizing that she loves the friend zone guy.

Typical chick flick. Friend zone guy pines for her. She rejects him for another while acting immaturishly naive. She has an epiphany realizing the other guy isn't what she wants. She goes after the friend zone guy who has been rejected and then happily ever after.
