Pete is a pathetic loser (possible spoilers)!

So Pete secretly loves Rosalee, but what does he do when Tad came along?

- Calls the cops to say that Rosalee and Tad are on the mountain possibly making out.
- Attempts to make Rosalee work the night shift so she couldn't date Tad again.
- Suddenly kisses Rosalee and tells her that he loves her following advice from Angelica. This when she was supposed to be Tad's girlfriend already, and boy would I have loved to see him beat him up for that.

Basically, Pete is a selfish pr!ck who in the end does not deserve Rosalee. He loves himself more. If he really cares about her, then he shouldn't have sabotaged anything that makes her happy, including her dates with Tad. He should have just confessed his feelings and let everything else flow.

How much of a loser can he be, since he gets the girl? I never thought he was a loser.

The only thing that makes him a loser is chasing after a shallow girl and he loses by finally getting her.

Pete ends up looking pretty ordinary because the film is balanced in Tad's favour, with him spending more time with Rosalee than Pete ever does, added to the fact that for much of the film's running time Tad is written up as a swell sort of guy.🐭
