Did Jesus really wash his disciples feet?

Feels weird
It's in the Bible.
It's what servants did for their masters. It was Jesus's way to say he was there to serve them not to be served.
It is. Or at least, it was weird for me the first time I participated.
Many churches will have, as part of their Holy Thursday Mass or service, a washing of the feet. I've seen this done in various ways. Some churches will have 12 members (scheduled ahead of time) come forward and have their feet or one foot washed by the priest or minister. Other churches will have the congregation wash each other's feet.
The first time I did this it was very, very weird. I was super uncomfortable and, I'm embarrassed to say, I think I giggled at one point. But it is a very beautiful and humbling ceremony to participate in.
Pope Francis has washed people's feet too. He washed Muslim and Hindu refugee's feet... here's a link...

Praise god that we have such kind people in the world. We need more of them. Not that I would wash someone's feet but you know...
