Why the f--- does it seem like all the characters in every single Coen brothers movie have weird names? Is it just to make their movies more "quirky"?

i think it's for both reality and absurdity value in that a LOT of people have weird names, but rarely do a bunch of weirdly-named people end up in the same story together.

That's one thing I have always liked about the Cohen Brothers writing...the fact that they take the time and imagination to come up with some original character names.
