I couldn't even get through this flick.

It really really bored me.

I'm amazed at all of the whining about this moving. I rather liked it. Some of the humor falls flat, but overall it's a very watchable movie with some beautiful photography. This movie turned me around on Tom Hanks. Before, I thought he was a no talent hack. He plays a very lovable antagonist.

you calling tom hanks a no talent hack makes your opinion mean nothing to anyone

a no talent hack? You not seen Saving Private Ryan?

In fact ´most´ of the jokes don´t quite work all that well; it´s all so mannered & self conscious & trying so hard all the time as each character has this quirk of which overemployment gets bothersome rather fast. Also, it´s frequently pretty bland and dull - and that´s something rather unheard of for a Coen movie (Intolerable Cruelty keeps company though).

But it WAS beautifully shot however and no movie with a good fart joke in it can be all bad... can it? Also I liked the ending and I liked the cat. Don´t take it beyond the rating of 5/10 though. The original was slightly better perhaps.

I saw this in the movie theaters and left thinking it should have been rated nc-55 because anyone younger than that probably isnt going to find this film funny.

Well I feel the same about most of the moden holywood comedies - possibly hysterically funny if you're under 10.

Wait, you thought Tom Hanks was a no talent hack until you saw The Ladykillers? What films of his did you see before that?

Great movie.. gets even better by repeated viewing..
