Says I. And so does Hudsucker Proxy. It's not up there with Fargo, True Grit, and No Country For Old Men, but it's certainly worthy of their goofy screwball comedies like Raising Arizona and O Brother, Where Art Thou? I haven't seen the original, but am curious about it. Is the hate mostly because it's a remake? And how good is the original? I am often wary of old movies since acting and writing have improved vastly in the past 30-40 years, but there are quite a few old ones I like quite a bit. But as far as I'm concerned, the Coens' True Grit is astronomically better than the one with the Duke.

Some detractors are fashionistas who don't like that Garth Pancake got blueberry syrup on his safari jacket!
