And at the very least, it's right up there with the worst, such as Kill Bill, Tropic Thunder, and The City of Lost Children.

I agree with that. Boring and uninteresting. I was so bored during this movie I counted how many swear words were used.
Well, then I must be completely stupid because I love this film.
Oh, and I'm a huge fan of pre-1970 films as well, including a number of 1950s British films....but not the original.
