TRUE GRIT is easily one of the best remakes i have ever seen
it is a fine western but maintains their quirky quality too
the ladykillers is a brit classic
you can't make that funny in an american way
English drama can be transferred
state of play was adapted into a great thriller crowe /Mirren
but English comedy can not :(
I completely agree. Not even a glint of a patch on the original and I gave this a really open minded shot as well.
I don't get why America keeps trying to do their own versions of British films and TV shows. You don't see the British re-making Rebel Without A Cause or Jaws or Frasier so I don't get the method as they always turn out terrible.
