The plan would have worked, if Gawain wasn't part of the team.

Gawain is one of the biggest *beep* I've ever seen in a Coen Bros. movie. He gets fired from his job, so he's worthless as an inside man, he constantly works against the gang, getting in childish fights with Garth, and so on.

Professor Dorr should have been smart enough to get rid of Gawain after the whole job incident. Then the plan might have worked!
But what sort of movie would it have been if the gang actually made it?
xD

It all stated to go south once he brought his bitch to the Waffle Hut.

I agree, salvin - the Gawain character put me very much in mind of the kind of brother Chris Rock castigates in his 'I Love Black People but I Hate *beep* comedy routine:

• Chris Rock - Black People VS. *beep* (Bring the Pain 1996)
» video, 8:13 – http://youtu.be/f3PJF0YE-x4

I wonder whether Joel and Ethan were deliberately writing and directing a character with the characteristics of a *beep* à la Chris Rock?

what does him being black have to do with chris rock's routine?! lmao

chris rock's joke is what undercover racists use to differentiate between "good blacks and bad blacks". gawain being black should mean nothing and have nothing to do with his incompetency. hopefully you come to terms with your feelings.

I think Garth is the one who screwed everything up. Wayan's character's mistakes were easy for them to cover. Garth's ruined the whole plan.

"Get rid"? If you mean fire him, they couldn't because it would've been a risk. If you mean kill him, I doubt they would've done that. They wanted to kill MRS. MUNSON only because they thought there was no other choice.

they needed him to patch the hole in the vault. without him the cops would have known where the money went

The whole gang was pretty incompetent, with the exception of the Vietnamese general.

Shows you: you shouldn't advertise for a gang in the newspaper.
