The concept is brilliant-what went wrong?(answers to have spoilers)

Hi - I haven't seen this movie, but because of its 4.7 rating, I don't want to. However the concept sounds brilliant... can someone please tell me what's so bad about it?

Obviously they do somethign REALLY stupid with the plot... what?

I don't care if you spoil it, I won't see it anyway.

Honestly everyone thinks the ending sucks, and I have to say that it isn't great.
I loved the movie and I just finished watching it again for the second time and the only problem would be the ending otherwise I would say it is great.

Lessee...where to begin...

The acting begins decent from Greg Kinnear and Rebecca Romijin-Stamos but then degrades toward bad when the operation takes place.

It relies on little more than generic jumpy shocks for its "horror."

It takes sensitive and tragic subject matter and exploits it shamelessly.

And, last but not least, the ending was awful.

Honestly, if this movie hadn't been made into a thriller, I could see it as being decent.

I liked this film..until the ending.

It really was incredibly bad. But, it's still worth watching because, despite that, it's a really good film.

Yes "the concept sounds brilliant", but it is not executed very well.

Look this film is not unwatchable, but if you are expecting a film about the implications of cloning that contains something approaching psychological or emotional truth then you will be dissapointed because it is merely a run of the mill thriller.

As I said, not unwatchable, but just leave your brain switched off.

The concept was a great idea but where it went wrong was by going down the whole 'evil kid' road. Instead of trying to be a horror film, it would have been better as a psychological drama exploring Adam's confusion over his own identity and his parents' worries over the ethics of what they have done now that Adam is growing older and they can't hide the truth from him forever.

Rebecca Romijin-Stamos' character was extremely annoying. Between calling "Adam!" every five minutes and saying things like "stop it" and "leave him alone, you are hurting him", I was very sick of her.

Life is never fair, and perhaps it is a good thing for most of us that it is not.
