It's Entertaining

When this movie first came out I really despised it because of the historical interpretation. I'm a history buff and there are so many things wrong, that at the time, I couldn't put them aside and I didn't find the movie enjoyable. After a rewatch though, and probably being a bit more mature, just ignoring the outstanding inaccuracies, this film is mostly entertaining.

It's a solid sword-and-sandal epic that's capably directed by Wolfgang Petersen. We really don't get old-school epic films like this anymore from a technical standpoint. Sure there's still wide CGI shots like the ships and the two armies facing off. But there's a lot of practical stuff and actual sets involved too.
