Hector vs. Achilles (Vote)
Who were you rooting for during their duel.
I really wanted HECTOR to win.
"We will meet again, my brother."

Hector.
shareI'm Greek, so I'm biased and would choose Achilles, but it's hard not to feel for Hector, who was always portrayed as a noble character. As an aside, my favorite character is Odysseus - it was by his wits and cunning that Troy was taken, although he was also a great warrior.
shareNo argument. Hector.
Laugh while you can, Monkey Boy!
One indicator of character preference is that parents are willing to name their kid after them. I've never met anyone named after Achilles here in the US. Can see how that would be different in Greece, where his deep lore is better known.
I have known multiple Hectors, a Ulysses & even an Andromache.
Hector of course. Achilles was a d*k. But of course we knew before it started who was going to win.
shareI have known the outcome since I was a kid, but every time I watch this movie I detest Achilles and love Hector even more. Hector fought for his city and his family. His was an honorable and noble cause.
Achilles the bloodthirsty fought only for an ultimately empty glory.
Achilles
shareJust because something happened in the book and is believed to have happened in real life, doesn't mean they would keep it in the movie. For example:
Paris is killed, as well as Hector's baby. Hectors wife was enslaved.
Helen is returned to Sparta.
Agamemnon survives the war, but is killed by his wife shortly after returning to Greece.
Achilles was dead before the Trojan Horse.
Hector was scared to face Achilles and ran around the entire walls of Troy to avoid him.
So who's to say that maybe in this version Hector could have survived.
