Towards the beginning when Dewey is trying to get cash, he is trying to sell his red Gibson SG and says that Hendrix played that guitar. However Hendrix was known for playing Strats and the SG Hendrix did play was white not red.
"You'll meet them all again on their long journey to the middle."
yea thats the point, hendrix probably didnt play the guitar. besides just saying what he was known for playing doesnt mean he never played anything else. Its like saying angus has never played anything other than an SG.
"Hello? I just shot somebody, i did it on purpose!"
Really, did Angus Young ever play anything else than an SG? I mean, certainly not on stage... I read in interviews that he always played the SG, mostly because he didn't feel comfortable on any other guitar. I know that in the video "shake your foundations" he sued a EDS-1275, I guess that was just for looks. the only other guitar I believe he could play, according to what I read would be a Les Paul junior, or maybe some small Gretsch, kinda like his brother's guitar. Oh well, just thought I'd give my two cents.
To know that he doesn't feel comfortable playing a different kind of guitar, means that at some point he had to play a different kind of guitar to know he was uncomfortable with it Carry the 4 divided by pie and it appears hendrix could have played dewey's guitar :p
i started an "i hate cox" website.it was me,2 interns and 14,000 lesbians T~O #1!!! R~M
Angus did play a Gretsch or something similar in the very early days. I've seen footage and stills of Angus playing this, but I think this was in their pub band days before they started recording. He's only played the SG (AFAIK) since.
Then again, I distinctly remember seeing a live clip of AC/DC and Malcolm was playing one of the solos. Again, this was from the early days a bout the time their very first album came out. I think Malcolm is a pretty accomplished soloist, maybe even better than Angus.
I must do a search on Youtube for that 'Shake Your Foundations' video. I don't ever recall seeing Angus play a twin neck guitar.
When I said I wanted to be a comedian, they all laughed at me. Well, they're not laughing now!
I don't know about Angus, but a lot of guitarists that are known for using one particular guitar, have used a lot of different guitars live and on records.
But if a guitarist is comfortable with a particular brand (Fenders for the single coils and scale length), Gibson for the scale length and humbuckers, Ibanez for the very things necks) he usually sticks with the brand.
