Was Noah selfish by leaving kids behind?

Does anyone think it was selfish of Noah to basically abandon his children to stay with Aly?

I feel badly for the kids who basically lose both parents because one has Alzheimers.

they were fully grown, capable of taking care of themselves. it would be selfish if they didn't understand how important it was to him to stay w his true love and make her feel safe at this nursing home. he didn't want her suffering alone.

I really don't understand your comment. The kids were grown and on their own, he didn't "leave them behind." He was living in a nursing home instead of in his own home. His adult children still could visit him. How it is "leaving them behind" that they visit him in a nursing home rather than a private residence? They haven't "lost" him; they still have a relationship.
