The Red Pill
This movie is so redpill
shareDefinitely. I'm sure it wasn't deliberately so on the part of the author or screen writers, but it just ended up reflecting a truth: the quiet, edgy, argumentative, unpredictable, risk-taking, strong handyman got the girl. Since the film was sympathetic towards him, I'm sure most of the audience was rooting for him. Lon was an alpha male contender, though, so it could have gone either way, but he was just a bit too safe and nice. The scene with him in his office at work epitomised this. Allie could, of course, have had her cake and eaten it.
shareIsn’t “the red pill” something incels go on about?
How is this movie red pill? Noah was very romantic, which is a big reason why Allie fell for him. Lon was a good guy, but unfortunately, Allie still loved Noah. It was never really a contest. Allie was just too scared to admit the truth.
Admittedly, I don’t know much about this red pill stuff, but I didn’t think this movie fit the description.
