the more I see it the more I like it.

truly...as dull as this movie is ...its got its moments .I actully enjoyed both quaid and dorrif.I saw it in the theater and thought it was pretty bad,but after seeing it on cable probably a dozen times and renting the dvd for the deleted scenes and alternate ending,I must say, whenever its on I try to catch it.I know someone agrees that this movie is not that bad, actually pretty funny at times.

Strange. Whenever I see a bad film I'm certain I won't watch it again. You've done just the opposite. Over and over again.

If I ever had to watch this "thriller" again, I'd be looking for that Devils Throat to jump into it myself.

I'm thankful that I borrowed the DVD from the library instead of actually paying money to see that poorly written movie. The characters were soooo stupid. Why did the guy think he had to find a ton of evidence himself? You know, the police do have trained and experienced teams that specialize in evidence collection. The sheriff was totally incompetent, didn't arrest Dorff for assualt, P.I. or disorderly conduct done in her presence and dismissed physical evidence as "circumstantial" evidence. The family just let Massie barge into their home, eat their dinner and fire up a big fat joint at the table. The " E V I L " clue was a cliche, the dead horse in the swimming pool was a cliche. The only redeeming thing about Cold Creek Manor was the performances, the acting was better than what I expected considering the base material was so weak.

... the problem is, it wasn't meant to be funny...

You're the first person I've wanted to talk to for more than 5mins... ever!

This movie is crap. It starts out ok, then self destructs into a mess of poor acting and ridiculous actions.

This movie is actually so weak, it's actually a good idea for aspiring screenwriters to watch it and see all the mistakes that it made, because they are painfully obvious. Great movie to watch for thriller writers (like myself) to see what NOT to do. Seriously. I watch it every time it's on, granted that nothing else it on.

It seemed more like a problem with the directing and music more than anything. The snake thing might have worked if it was directed right, but it's like this British director chose the absolute worst way to film that scene. What parts of the script did you find weak?

reply

Um, Youve seen this film 12 times on tv, rented it on dvd, and then try to "catch it" whenever its on.... I find all of that ALMOST as unbelievable as the writing in this movie. You either have an INCREDIBLE amount of spare time on your hands, or you are one of the most masochistic individuals in the world. I'm sure they used this film in the Secret Torture chambers at Gitmo and Abu Gahrib..There are SO many titles that are worth a dozen viewings, too many to list here, Cold Creek Manor is as far from "watchable" as they come. PLEASE next time it's on, kill yourself or turn the channel.. :-)

This movie is one of the best i've ever seen. I don't know why everyone hates it so much. Its funny as hell like when Dale just lights up a bone in the kitchen and when everyone was screaming because there was snakes everywhere in the house.

reply

Yah, I really liked this movie! Im watching it right now.

is it true this movie was made entirely of rejected script from the shining, red dragon, amityville horror, and the ring?

...anyway, it sure looks like that.

reply

I like how Dale just likes up a joint like its no big deal.
