One of the most boring and predictable films ever made

I only ranked this a three for the photography and sets, basically. Looking at Stone was ok, but she really appeared drab in this movie. It COULD have been halfway decent, had there been several red herrings to throw you off the track as to what was going on, but-no, you know almost from the beginning who it is and what's going on.

Well I was expecting some major twists (Dale's father being the really bad guy, Cooper being guilty,...) Guess not...

I just rented it, it was in the "horror" section of the video store. There was alot of suspense and build up....but to what? Very anti-climatic, it did start off great though.

This film should been made with Leslie Nielson, all the cliches from all the spooky old house with history were in this one.
The previous owner always leave their furniture and photographs.
The police are hard to convince
The axe thingy breaks through the door, I was half expecting the killer to say "honey I'm home".
Loads of contrived screaming by the family, bordering on comedy.
Something mysterious in the woods in this case a deep hole. And of course someone has to end up unintentionally at the bottom of it.
Power cut and disconnected phone
Killer's suv is adorned with dazzling lights switched on at the appropriate moment.
