Yes, well... "hear hear" is often misrepresented by "here here"... but it's short (if you will) for hear him, hear him... hence the "hear hear"... are you Welsh then?

Yes, I know what the saying is, and I think a better, simpler explanation of it -- to get the point across to people -- is "listen to this guy"; no more confusion over similar words. No, I'm Swedish and my sense of humor is second to none.
