Did Dale bash her brains in because it sure looked like it. Then at the end of the film we see Ruby wheel her away in a wheel chair and she looks paralyzed?

She was paralyzed during the movie too. We should all hope she wasn't an example of how ineffective female law enforcement officers actually are.
