from the actress who played Patty

I just read everyone's wonderful comments about the movie. In case people aren't aware, the show was also made into a storybook in the '80's. Unfortunately, the book has been out of print since the early 90's. Next year will be the film's 30th year anniversary, and yes, it is definitely on DVD!

I am very touched and honored to have been part of a film that people still consider a family tradition to watch every Christmas. I truly hope you all continue that tradition for many more years to come and "keep Christmas with you all through the year(s)."

Sincerely yours,
Deborah (Debbie) Chen

Hello Deborah!

I bought this movie on VHS in 2002, and have enjoyed it ever since! Sounds like you had a great time doing it! The only thing I wish is that Patty had gone up to the roof with Big Bird - it would have been interesting to see what she would have done. Were you kind of dissapointed that didn't happen?
Also, I thought your winter outfit in that movie was great - was it your own?
Take care!

Debbie,
I'm 34, and Christmas Eve was never complete without watching Christmas Eve on Sesame Street. A year never went by without me watching it. Now that I have a 22 month old son, he wants to watch this a couple times a day at least. That's a lot, but having spent my childhood watching this, I cannot convey how much it means to me to share this with my son who enjoys it so much.

Debbie,

I was thrilled to see how much you enjoyed playing this role. My children have considered this part of every holiday season. My oldest daughter went so far as to hunt down copies of the VHS for her sister and her own daughter (2 years old) has fallen in love with the video too! In fact, she watched it so many times this year that one of the tapes no longer works!!!! We'll be looking forward to getting the DVD.

Do you by any chance know who the other children were in the video and are any of them still in the acting business?

Best wishes to you!

Jayne

I remember watching it as a kid (I'm 30). A few years ago I was in CVS & spotted it on the dvd rack. Of course I bought it! Must be so fun working with the muppets. So glad you enjoyed it!

Hi Deborah,

I would love to interview you about your memories regarding the program. I think a lot of people watch Christmas Eve on Sesame Street annually and would love an insider's account of it.
