First off Thomas Jane was a huge miscast as the punisher. He had a pussiness about him that ruined the movie for me. The stupid sidekicks and romantic interest all were horrible. The acting over all was horrible except for Travolta who nailed it.
Save your time and watch Punisher War Zone.
Virgins. I love em. No diseases, no loose as a goose pussy, no skank. No nothin. Just pure pleasure!
*spoilers* You're tripping. Sad that you are so woefully unfamiliar with the character, Punisher. This was played well. The story is great. There are NO romantic entanglements.... soooooo, you straight made that up. He's cold & unfeeling, the PERFECT Punisher. He does NOT kiss Jane "the mouse", in the end- despite her obvious crush. Instead delivering that incredible quip about: "if you want to know how I'm doing, read a paper. The obituaries." Whereas, in the hunk of garbage you recommend, the soft ass little girl of a Punisher lets his guard down because he's busy "playing house" at his "hideout", & lets the bad guys get a jump on him. It is the OPPOSITE of the Frank Castle character. Period.
*Spoiler* YOU'RE tripping. I have been a fan of this character for over 30 years now, and this movie and the portrayal of the character were terrible beyond words. So sorry, you're "woefully unfamiliar" tag doesn't fit on me. Bad taste in movies. Period.
you ever read the comic this film was based on? Year One was written in the mid 90s and Frank was also a drunken and sullen mess in it. At one point in that story he was crying in a bed of forget me nots. Sh1 t was corny. And a little bit of cheesiness seems to be part of the character's essence no matter who's writing him.
While Ennis brought the character up to date in the early 2000s the action in some of his arcs of the Max comics were hilarious yet equally stupid at times with overdone cartoon like deaths and portrayal of the antagonists as one dimensional dimwits. While this film was like a love letter to the very 80s action flicks that the character embodied until the early 2000s, it managed to combine some of the better moments in both the Year One and Welcome Back Frank arcs. It has a cult following and got more than a few folks to appreciate the character and become fans. The movie after it didn't do much better.
EXACTLY..RAY STEVENSON WAS PERFECT.I HAD SEEN HIM IN THE OUTPOST,BUT WASNT EXPECTING MUCH FROM WARZONE..DUDE THREW THE FLICK ON HIS SHOULDERS AND POWERED ON...
