Toshio on the Phone

you know the part where the woman who i think is supposed to be kayako and the guy is at her house? than you hear this meeeoow and you see toshio sitting on the couch holding the phone. is that toshio or the cat meowing? i could be either. at the begining of juon 1 toshio meows when kubayashi looks out the window. so it might be him but then his ghost cat meows alot too

It's Toshio. He's about to morph into his cat-boy form. It's still a bit confusing. He seems to be OK in human form, since he seemed to like his teacher and was being normal by drawing cats and messing up the house, but he still meows. I guess he attacks or does his mother's bidding in cat-boy form. I dunno.
