I can not read japanese or korean. Anyone know how to actally turn english subs on the acatual DVD I have never had this much difficulty figuring out what menu selection will do this 60 minutes later and still no luck... Any help is greatly appreciated
I'm having the same problem. I just won mine from ebay. Its got both "Ju-on: the Curse" movies on 1 DVD, with Kayako in the top right on the cover. I started playing the movie...no English Subtitles. I can't find the Setup Option anywhere on the DVD Menu. Its all in Japanse and it seems there's only 4 options: play movie, scene selection, cast/crew info, and a promotional ad for different asian movies. The ebay item specifically said the DVD had English Subtitles, so I just sent them an e-mail, trying to resolve this.

As an update, I finally tried to figure out the subs again. Still nothing on the main menu. Then I tried it on my computer and there was an English subtitle track, so that made me think there had to be a way to watch it with subs on my DVD player. And...duh...on the remote control, there is a button for subs. I pushed it to English and...bingo! Can't believe I didn't think to try that earlier, but...better late than never :-)

I got all four Ju On movies from Cannibal King on eBay. The first two had subtitles automatically on the movie, as the eBay seller himself had put the subs on it. I don't know if he's still doing this, though, as I bought my Ju On DVDs 6 years ago.
