Come Wander With Me ---------- SPOILERS
Just in case folks haven't figured it out - this is a pretty well-spoiled movie. But I'm still going to make it clear that there are
SPOILERS BELOW:
1. Yes, it was too long & boring, too narcissistic, and Gallo can call me names until he says something interesting if he disagrees with me.
2. Yes, exploitative of porno-style voyeurism. But I can't complain, because a) I keep on being more and more impressed with Chloe Sevigny, who used to give me the creeps, but now I see that it's not the actress, but her choice of roles that has moved me. So now I can appreciate the actress after all. And b) because "the scene" is the main reason I wanted to see the movie anyway, at least at first. Anybody else willing to be that honest about it?
3. In the end, I found it to be a very good and moving story, although I still felt it needed to be shorter and show me less of what the US highway system looks like. But I did finally understand why this guy was wandering across the country, and why he could be such a jerk to poor little wide-eyed Violet from the gas station (not that she deserved it to be treated that way, but I suppose it's meant as a sign that this guy is that far off in the land of the distraught that he is broken).
4. Huge, huge extra bonus points to Gallo et al. for choosing a simple, quiet soundtrack that actually seemed to set the right mood and not shout at us. Extra special bonus points for the "Come Wander with Me" tune from the Twilight Zone episode with Gary Crosby:

I liked that especially, because it happens to be one of the tunes I've found myself returning to over the years since I saw that unusually calm and haunting episode.
5. Is Cheryl Tiegs busy this weekend? She's 20 years older than I am, AND I DON'T CARE :)
