One of Statler's Lines
Has anyone noticed that near the end when Statler says "historical landmark?" his voice changes to sound like the old Richard Hunt Statler. This is because his current performer Jerry Nelson was too sick to perform full time, so he later looped his lines. However, Steve Whitmire performed Statler in Nelson's absence, and that one line of his remains in the final cut. We hear Whitmire's voice on the 'landmark' line rather than Nelson's. Personally, I think Whitmire does a better Statler than Nelson. And he got to perform the role again in "The Muppets Wizard of Oz".
