I seem to see a lot of people who think he is very funny. But I look at him and I think: "Why?" To each their own. But it's just he is way too weird and his voice is awkward. Boy. If Jim Henson were still alive, I don't think he would've approved of that character. Pepe kinda ruined the Muppets for me. Before that almost everything Muppets was great. Who agrees with me?

You're not alone. Every time I see that little vermin I GET SO ANGRY! He's not anything a Muppet should be: cute, endearing, or even funny. I think the only reason he has so many fans is because he's considered "hip" and "edgy"-whatever.

THANK YOU, I completely agree!!! I can't stand him either, even when they used him in the Long John Silver's commercials. He's like the anti-Muppet, but they keep giving him bigger parts,
I like him ... but my issue with him at first was that he seemed to take Rizzo's place as the in-house sleaze. Rizzo was always portrayed as street-wise, crass, sarcastic, and womanizing (at least to Brooke Shields in Muppets Take Manhattan).
Then, when Rizzo started mellowing in his relationship with Gonzo (as friends, gutterbrains), Pepe took up the slack as the sleazy jerk. In fact, Pepe is both raunchier AND FUNNIER than Rizzo. I prefer sleazy Rizzo -- but I have to hand it to Pepe ... he knows what he likes, and he seems to want it more than Rizzo ever did.

Pepe is just... I dunno bad sleeze. And they use him as an accuse for using slight (sometimes overlooked) sexual comments.
I just don't feel like he's a muppet to me.

Yeah, Pepe bugs me too. He's basically done to the Muppets what Elmo's done to Sesame Street. Although, he's more tolerable here than he was in Muppets From Space.

He may have been amusing in small doses on Muppets Tonight, but I really can't stand him overall and hate how he's become such a major player in recent years. I was relieved he only had a short cameo in the most recent movie. I just don't get the character's appeal.
shareI agree, I think Pepe is the most annoying of the Muppets. My friend and I are both Muppet fans and she thinks he's hilarious, but I really can't stand him and find that he doesn't really mesh well with the other Muppets either.
