the amazing thing about this movie is that it's far too subtle for the audience it was marketed to. it's a spoof of bad movies, not a bad movie itself.

Yes, finally... well maybe not a spoof exactly but certainly a wry look at the genre and the whole Hollywood BS.
And unfortunately most critics weren't smart enough to realise that either.

just because Hollywood Homicide is packaged as a satire of Hollywood and buddy cop movies doesn't mean it was actually any good! The whole 'Hollywood BS' send up is done in practically every single movie set in Hollywood these days. The old cheesburger chomping, alcoholic wise guy versus idealistic health-food yoga obsessed youth who wants to be in the movie business.

Indeed. I still can't believe the amount of bad press this movie got. Didn't anybody get the joke? I mean, seriously, how is it not funny to watch cops drink mineral water and go to dance class?

No, "The Naked Gun" is a spoof. This is just bad.

I just saw the movie for the first time on STARS. It was an entertaining way to spend Sunday evening.

I seldom pay heed to the critics (who bad mouthed this movie). They tend to be like Rush Limbaugh listeners. In this case, Rush (two or three influencial for the moment critics) instruct the flock which way to think, then the flock dutifully bleats while thinking it is actually a mass of freethinkers. Those who do not bleat correctly are either ignorant or part of a conspiracy.
This movie did a fine job of hitting the cliches without being stilted or needing to put up signs pointing to each gag so the audience wouldn't miss it(unfotunately, many did).

One of my favorite little haha's was Lou Diamond Phillips as the vice cop in drag.

Thanks bluzman. Because you think for yourself, unlike that fat ba----d Rush and his brainwashed flock of zombies, I will watch this movie and will probably enjoy it! It's nice to know I'm not the only one who thinks that one fat moron can repeat a lie over and over and succeed in getting so many other BRAINDEAD MORONS to believe what he says as facts. There's nothing closer to the propaganda of hitler than the words (lies) of rush limpballs. Whew. Man. I've been needing to say that. Boy. I do feel better now. Thanks bluzman. You made my day.
