last good action/comedy of my generation
I have loved this movie since I was 11 years old. I remember seeing it in the theaters packed with people who were laughing and having a ball. Eight years later and Hollywood Homicide is still incredibly funny and smart. The plot and script is well-written. The cast is great!
I really believe that in the age where most movies (comedies, dramas, action adventures, etc) are written and scenes are written specifically to please the audience, this is one of the last action films where it's just good fun. Where there aren't moments of "Here's a joke, there's the punchline, laugh audience laugh!" And, there aren't tons of silly, useless one liners in the middle of action sequences. It's an action film that actually still has a story the audience can follow.
It's definitely one of the most underrated blockbuster movies of my generation.
