Second Renaissance story was a little bit similar to I, Robot movie

Anyone else agrees?

"I, Robot" was based loosely on a series of short stories and books by Isaac Asimov. If it's a game of 'who done it first' then the prize probably goes to "Rossum's Universal Robots", a Czech play from the 1920's that first coined the term robot. In the play, artificially created beings called robots are manufactured to create a cheap labor force. There's even a group of dissenters that plead that the robots need to be liberated, but their calls go unheeded and the robots eventually rebel, destroying humanity. The end of the play suggests that robots have even developed human emotions and will entirely supplant mankind.

Yeah they are kinda similar but as the previous poster said, the story of 'I, Robot' predates 'Second Renaissance'. Anyhow probably Proyas was inspired/influenced by its "visuals". I.e. there is a particular scene when a robot is squashed by a tank or something; You can see a pretty similar scene in 'I, Robot'.
