Best Sequel
I thought this was a better sequel than the second one. The second fell flat and seemed as if it were rushed to make a quick buck. Plus I will always remember the foo fighter song "Times like these".

great pictures mateys
I agree.
This one will always be my favourite. :]
Stifler is a God.
Second was the better of the two sequals (not counting that other straight to dvd *beep* I vote the second one mostly because of the fact that they maintained the original cast... the OZ character was a douche bag and didn't add much but when ever a movie completely dismisses a character without explanation it just doesn't gel right...
shareNothing compared to the previous installments, the second film will always remain the best of the series to me. However there were more than enough laughs in 'American Pie: The Wedding'.
American Pie - 8/10
American Pie 2 - 9/10
American Pie: The Wedding - 6/10
American Pie: Band Camp - 5/10
American Pie: The Naked Mile - 4/10
American Pie: Beta House - 4/10
American Pie: Book of Love - 3/10
I actually think each film was better than the last (just counting the original trilogy) based simply on how the characters were used;
The first one tried to be an ensemble after Jim and tried to split the screen time evenly among the other characters.
Strong characters (mainly due to the actors playing them ) were finch, Kevin, Michelle, Jims Dad, and most importantly Stifler.
Weaker characters included Jessica, Nadia, Vicky, Oz and Mena Suvaris character (cant think of the name off hand). Honestly aside from Jessica (and maybe Nadia) did any of those characters even have one funny line in the first 2 films? They were necessary to have there but they were very replacable.
The first film spread the characters screen time around which is fine, it's hard to project how popular certain characters will be on script.
The second film did focus on the stronger characters more and pushed the weaker ones into the background. Stifler carried that movie.
But the third film cut off the dead weight and focused on the best characters. Finch and Stifler impersonating each other was one of the best sequences in the trilogy and something that there's no way the likes of Chris Klein could have pulled off. Michelles role increased with each film which was a huge positive. And the Finch character flourished with more screen time.
American Wedding is my favorite out of all 3.
shareI like the thid one, but it feels kind of too forced and overdone at times. 2 is not quite as sweet as the original, but it's probably my favorite of the series. It takes some characters from the original, and furthers them. The overall movie feels a little more confident and laid-back compared to the original.
shareHonestly, I don't know how anyone can rate this over AP2 or Reunion...The third is sooooo forced it's painful. Stifler drives me crazy in this one. I mean I don't hate the film, but it's annoying. I like it just to see Jim and Michelle get married. I definitely rate it as my least favourite of the 4 important American Pie films.
The third films saving grace is Bear! He is hilarious. The dance off and the strippers are the best parts in the film, mainly due to him. Other than that, the other scenes try to be too funny (Jim and stifler humping the dogs, Stifler eating dog crap) Sigh!
When I first saw this, I liked it better than 2. But after all these years, I rewatched both and American Pie 2 is sooooo much better IMO. The whole cast is in the sequel, how can you hate that, and Reunion had the whole cast back as well and was definitely better than 3. So, after all my ranting, I'll conclude with 3 is the weakest- easily!
-American pie
-American Pie 2 + Reunion
-American wedding
To be fair, the majority of these posts were made before American Reunion was even being thought about.
So I hear Dads dead, hey is that eggnog?
