Badly Written + Delivered Line

I LOVE this movie, but while watching just now there is a scene with Jim, Finch and Kevin in the kitchen at the engagement party where Kevin says to Finch "You should come to law school with me, you know I could use the company", it's so badly written because it's a lazy excuse to explain what's going on with Kevin, they had to come up with someway to explain what he was doing with his life so to include him, but it's a horribly written line, and the actor does a terrible job of delivering a badly written line.

"We Came to Vegas Looking for Strippers and Cocaine"

yeah, i realized then & there that the guy who plays kevin can't act. like, at all. sad, cause he was always such a cutie, character-wise.

I agree with this.

~China Doll~

I can be wrong but that line is not ONLY in the extended version?

Just watched this movie and felt that whole kitchen scene was awkward. From Michelle saying "So Finch what are you going to do with that fancy pants NYU degree" and the obviously horrible law school line. It didnt fit, it was just a bad attempt to quickly address the other characters' futures.

I see what you guys mean, though the only part that really stuck out was as the OP stated, Kevins line about needing company at law school.

Introduce her to your world of sex, drugs and what else do you do? Cruel Intentions

I totally agree! I just re-watched it after having not seen it since it came out and that totally stuck in my mind after it happened!

You're right, it was a clunky line, but there are parts that are even more contrived - that scene with the dog, Stifler, and Jason Biggs during the engagement party, for example.
