is Tremors the series gone already??

The re-run of Hit & Run was supposed to be on Wed night, but Roar was on instead. No Tremors new episode (elders who think El Blanco is a spaceship) on tonight? What's going on?

I have heard that they are making a prequel. Maybe thay can't afford to make the series & direct-to-video movie at the same time.

Sci Fi Pulls 'Tremors,' 'Cleopatra'
By Brian Ford Sullivan

CHICAGO (thefutoncritic.com) -- Sci Fi's hot streak could be coming to an end as the cable channel announced today it has pulled its original drama "Tremors: The Series" and repeats of former syndicated series "Cleopatra 2525" from its Friday schedule. Encores from "Stargate SG-1's" sixth season will take over both hours (8:00/7:00c and 9:00/8:00c) beginning this week. Fellow Friday series "Scare Tactics" however will continue to run fresh installments at 10:00/9:00c.

No reason was given for the move however based on "Tremors'" 35% drop in audience between its first and second weeks, low ratings are likely the culprit. Such news could mean the end of Sci Fi's 11-month streak of building on year-to-year averages, the longest by any network, broadcast or cable. Final numbers for April however will not be available for several weeks.

Currently, "Tremors" is set to return on Friday, June 20 at 8:00/7:00c for the remainder of its 13 episode order. The drama will undoubtedly be helped by the return of "Stargate SG-1" to the schedule when its two-hour seventh season premiere hits June 13 at 9:00/8:00c.

As for "Cleopatra 2525," no return date has been set.

They didn't have enough confidence in the show to air it during May sweeps ... NOT a good sign. :(

i don't think it's been cancelled offically yet. i may be wrong on that though. but
they are still airing new episodes last week was a good one i think.

Cleopatra2525 totally sucked. i'm glad its gone. tremors is pretty good, i still wish Farscape was here. Stargate is great. ScareTactics is dumb. Even though Tracker is an old show, they should bring it back. I thought it was really good. I miss the Outer Limits too. It used to be on prime

I'm afraid that they're just burning off eps which are already in the can.

Sorry. :(

thefutoncritic isn't known for printing either gossip or scandal sheet rumors.

I'd like to think that they're a fairly reliable source.

What's more, did not the article quote the Sci-Fi Channel itself as making the official announcement?

reply

The report IS bogus because Cleo reruns were not airing on Fri night SciFi.
