The last aired episode have a proper ending to the series?

There was no real ending. They even changed the order of the episodes, so the last one aired wasn't necessarily intended to be the season finale. It's been a long time since I saw this show, but I don't recall there being any sort of closure. It was just monster-of-the-week. I don't think they even knew if there'd be a second season when they completed it. There was no cliffhanger, either.
