once about to go into the final fight with pious (for like the tenth time, only problem with this game is that its far too easy), adn got a messsage stateing that the game disk was unreadable and would needed to be cleaned. I thought it was was a sanity effect like the "your controller has been disconected..." thing. Waited for 10 ,bloody minutes before i gave up and cleaned the disk.

too many by the sounds of it.
it does get kinda boring after you've finished it for the tenth time, i just jump to edwards level and kill all the servants to get some cool sanity effects.
I got the "error reading disc" one, and it was for real, waited for about five minutes and I'm like "Hey, it's not a sanity effect" lol.
I wish I could wipe my memory of this game and play it again from the beginning.

shareI hate that one when I'm trying to hurry to do something (like if I need to finish the stage before I need to go do something else, etc). Today I was playing Lindsey's chapter and trying to hurry back to where you get to the mantorok rune and the ****ing rooms kept turning upside down...So annoying. I hate insanity effects that take awhile to run their course.

I thought that was really messed up-- A phone ringing in the anciect tunnels under Iraq! It was really creepy, imagining who might be on the other end of that call. Then I realized it was actually my phone ringing.
Yeah, that game messed with my mind.

shareWhen my sister was on it she was on the Menu, then it said 'Deleting..' we waited, then it said, 'All files deleted..' Then flash, back in the game, it was hilarious.
When I had my first go on it, the whole screen turned black, then in the corner of the screen VIDEO appeared, and you could hear a woman I think being being beaten up by some guy.
That scared me.

shareThey got me with teh one that disables the 'R' shoulder button. I actually thought that my controller was broken, and I was like, oh well, targeting isn't THAT important. That's how into the game I was. And the fact that they keep that going even through menus is great.
I also like the one where it pretends to turn your tv and gamecube off. They even get the light on the front of the cube to go off somehow!
Oh yeah, and the one where MUTE appears on your screen and the sound stops.
I could go on and on.

Man there are some really cool ones that I hear about but I never got =(. Sometimes I would just enter rooms over and over hoping for cool stuff to happen. I usually just got no head or big guy or something.
But I love the crying baby or woman, and the blood dripping from the ceiling. That is CREEPY.
Oh yeah and one time the game freaked me out so bad that I stood still for about 5 minutes because I was afraid to go anywhere. I was in some tunnel in some temple or tomb or something, and all of the sudden the controller rumbles slightly...ever so slightly, and the screen shakes a little. I stop walking. Rumbles again, screen shakes, a little bit more noticeably this time. Then it just keeps getting louder and louder, thumping thumping, more intense shaking; it's footsteps, and they are getting closer. But I can't see anything! Where's it coming from! Now the footsteps are RIGHT on top of me. Really loud and really intense. They stop. And some unseen monster lets loose the scariest roar I have ever heard in a video game. Then...just...nothi ng happened. I couldn't move for many minutes.
I've gotten the "Saved Data" corrupted thing, it pissed me off so much. And sometimes I can be very hapless in video games, so I play with friends, and once my friend started turning down the volume and I thought it was a game effect.
Most recently I opened my inventory to heal and nothing was there. I got so freaked out.
This is one of the best games of all time IMO.
I love the sanity effects.
