Ben Stiller didn't want this to be released.....what happend?

I read everywhere that Ben Stiller dislked this movie so much that he and other cast members tried as hard as they could to bring this straight to video....and apparently they were succesful...

So why did the decide to release it? Possibly because of Jack's post School of Rock succes?

Yep, they decided to release Envy in theatres because of school of rock's success
