The Final Zelda? (big spoilers)

Is this the final episode in terms of continuity? I know there's more Zelda's to come, but at the end Ganondorf is not sealed away as in previous instalments, but well and truly dead and buried beneath an ocean. By introducing the King of Hyrule and the guy wishing the end of the place, there's a certain sense of finality about it.

Also considering the triforce is no longer in the hands of Ganondorf or any possible descendents of Link or Zelda, so the eternal 'play' cannot continue. And on the final screen it says 'THE END- The Legend of Zelda' (with no suffix).

What do others think?

What about The Legend of Zelda: Twighlight Princess, it's coming out this year, right?

reply

I meant in terms of continuity. I think Ocarina is the beginning of the story, and Wind Waker is the end, and all over Zelda's take place in between the two, even the ones that haven't come out yet.

reply

You could right about that. Ocarina of Time details the creation of Hyrule and Wind Waker tells how it is eventually destroyed.

reply

Obviously since Phanthom Hourglass is a sequel to Wind Waker, it is not the final Zelda game in terms of continuity. However, it seems so far that Ganon will not return in PH.

Now human lives and histories are simply pawns in the great game of dominion.....DOOM'S GAME

reply

accually wind waker takes place after majoras mask and before a link to the past

reply

NO it doesn't. The order is

Ocarina Of Time
Majora's Mask
A Link To The Past
Zelda 1
Adventure Of Link
Oracle series
Link's Awakening
.....
.....
....
.....

Twilight Princess & Windwaker are towards the end. With Twilight before TWW, So yes. It's possible for it to be the last Hyrule Zelda game. IE: Phantom Hourglass is sequal to TWW

I'm not an idiot, if you go to almost any zelda site. They will say something like this.

reply

No, the WW is at the end. Not AOL

reply

Hey I dont want to get in a big fight about this so just believe what you want to believe.

reply

No, in my opinion it's relatively near the beginning of it in terms of continuity.

I saw a time line that was compiled by a site called Game Trailers.com It has the minish cap as first, since it talks about how the Master Sword (Picori Sword) was created and that all heroes and young men were given caps to like the character in that game. The Dual game (Seasons and Ages) are the final games because they deal with someone trying to ressurect Ganon. Ganon dies at the end of Wind waker, so we can assume that Age and Seasons take place after it. Also, the time line consists of two alternate universes....one where Zelda has sent Link back to relive childhood (end of OOT) and the other, without Link or his bloodline, hence the lines in wind waker dealing with how the new Link has no connection to the old Link.

SPOILERS!!!

InTwilight Princess, I thought Ganondorf was well and truly dead when he is stabbed by the Master Sword, and the Trifore of Power leaves him (as the Triforce Mark on his hand vanishes when the Master Sword is impaled in his chest). So I think that the Ganondorf in Wind Waker is a different one, but I am most probably wrong.

What are you, f_ucking retarded? The Gan(n)on(dorf) in every Zelda game is the same one. He always comes back to life to fight the next Link and the next Zelda.

Anyway, there's only one male Gerudo born every thousand years, and the chance that to in a row would be called "Gannondorf" is pretty damn slim.

Yeah, I know I made a typo. You don't have to tell me.

The suffix would be Phantom Hourglass soon to come to the DS, duh.

Its confirmed that ganondorf won't appear in Phantom Hourglass. I guess they'll have a new villain, and isn't Link suppose to find a new "Hyrule"?

Yeah, Ganon has been turned to stone, the Triforce is...somewhere, and Hyrule is flooded completely. I thought the same thing at the THE END screen, it seemed like they were saying that it is the end of the story.
BUT
The DS Zelda, Phantom Hourglass, is supposed to be a sequel to Wind Waker and actually pick up where this one left off, I'm a little unsure about how they are going to do it, but I know it will be great.
Who would be the villain?
