hmmm (spoiler)


this maybe a silly thing to say... but it always kind of makes me laugh in the end. Basically nathan has just fought against the japanese who were trained by americans (essentially fighting against americans)... kills their lt. colonel... then in the end when he shows up in council, he is wearing his american uniform. Just seems a bit off and strange.

Am i alone?

I see your point. Perhaps he wanted to draw the emperor's attention by not appearing as a samurai wanna-be, but a western soldier who deeply admired the emperor's former teacher. Sort of bridging the gap between two worlds and reminding the young leader not to discard everything from the past.
