Why not call it "The Way of the Samurai" or "The Death of the Samurai"

Would have avoided all the noise this film got regarding the title, Tom Cruise, white savior, etc.

This point is brought up time and time again. But the reality is that Samurai is both a singular and plural term. In this instance, Samurai is used as a term to describe the last of the Samurai as a large group of people which just happens to also include a white guy.
