Why didn't they just e-mail each other?
I don't understand how this could happen.
shareI guess because it's a remake of a pre-internet era film. But that's a good point. Could be listed as a goof or a plot hole.
By the same token, why Mat listed Luke's shop number on a note instead of his cell?
Yeah that makes no sense at all. They never should've shown any of them having cellphones.
They showed Matt's cellphone not working at Belluci's, but that was only because nobody could get a signal in the restaurant. (Alex tries to call Lisa's cell and can't get a signal either).
They really should not have shown the existence of cellphones at all. They were trying to borrow from the original film I'm sure, with missed phonecalls, but it just doesn't work in modern day.
Instead, we could've been led to believe it was mid 1990's when VERY FEW people had cellphones. Sure people would've picked the movie apart based on the year cars shown, but that's their problem. There probably wasn't budget to bring in all early 1990's cars!
At the very least, Luke should've had an answering machine those two times (at least) that Lisa called. Matt had an answering machine two years earlier. They incorporated that well, with Alex having a key in order to delete Lisa's (9) messages.
I agree. And Luke didn't have an answering machine?
And what's worse is that two years later they all had cellphones. I love this movie, but it really only works in the absence of modern communication.
