Anyone else notice the change in Bilkins character between movies?

Did anyone else notice the change in Bilkins character between The Fast and the Furious and 2 Fast 2 Furious? In The Fast and the Furious, he was a very hard-nosed, arrogant and tough boss who was giving O'Connor a hard time. In 2 Fast 2 Furious he was more of a kind, understanding type of person (towards O'Connor and Pearce), still hard-nosed about his job and taking down Carter, but soft on the people whom he was in charge of.

There definitely was a change in character portrayal, you are right. I'm sure if he was portrayed the same way in the first film, he probably would have still been hard on Brian and Roman.

All I need is one mic...

Watched The Fast and the Furious last night. Watching 2 Fast 2 Furious tonight. I think it had a lot to do with his bosses coming down on him and then taking it out on O'Connor.

My guess is once Brian flipped, he realized that maybe he had been a bit too hard on him since it cost him his career and felt he should give him another chance. Time heals all wounds.

But yes, I liked the change. One of my favorite scenes is when he is watching Brian and Roman fight while eating popcorn.

That scene, along with him wearing a bright yellow Hawaiian shirt on his day off were his funniest parts :)
