Any idea of release date?
Anyone know when it may be released in the UK?

Hi,
I contacted 3 of the production companies involved with the film. Two of them promised to "keep me informed". If I don't hear from either Rainstorm Entertainment, Aura Entertainment or Echo Lake Productions by mid-July, I will write them again, asking them about any US and/or any international release date(s) for the film, which I'll post here and at my Bud Cort fan site. That is, unless someone else beats me to doing such.

Has it even been bought yet?
shareWell, don't know if anyone else is visiting this site. I followed up on tiwanna's prior message and wrote the production companies asking if there was a release date, or if the film might just go to video/DVD.
Steven at Rainstorm Entertainment stated they were still trying to set up theatrical release dates, and in the meantime it would be showing at some film festivals.
Angela at Echo Lake Productions simply stated no release date (didn't say it would go direct to rental) and they were trying to set up showings at film festivals.
So we still know nothing about when this movie might see the light of day. The two parties mentioned above were very polite and prompt in responding to me.
A belated follow-up: Last month, I contacted Aura Entertainment and Brian from their office told me that, "We are currently solidifying our release plans for the film and will likely know more toward the end of the summer."
So stay tuned for further developments.

I'm still checking this page, impatiently awaiting news, so thanks for posting! :( I hope it's released over in this country, even if only on DVD, as long as it's SOON!
shareContacted Steve Kaplan at Rainstorm Entertainment and he said that at the earliest, the film might be released this December. However, as with such things, it could be subject to change.
shareWell, I suppose it's something! At least there's still news about it, thanks for letting us know!
No problem! I just hope that it's released before the New Year, as I am eager to see what Bud Cort has done in it. I wrote to, and heard from "Trixter," and from what she told me, his role seems to me like a "John Doe Jersey" type of role--small, but very important to the story. From writing one of the production companies of the film, I was able to get a photo of him, in a scene with Jon Favreau, which has piqued my curiosity about his part in it even more.
shareI've seen mention on a couple gossip type lists that Big Empty has been accepted to be shown at the AFI Fest in LA in November. Can anyone verify the accuracy of those reports?
shareI believe I found this info at the Rainstorm site...I'm another who can't wait for this movie to be released so I've been checking there periodically!
World Premiere will be at the AFI Fest on November 9, 2003
The Big Empty will then open in selected cities on November 14, 2003.
