I am sorry but this movie is totally inconsistent and i didn´t think there was any real meaning in what happens....
when people say that his and his girlfriends eyes became blue maybe this is bad sign, maybe the aliens have somehow gone into him and they both are not human anymore

I don´t think his luck has changed

You're right. Every comedy needs some sort of deeper purpose. How could I not have seen it before?

this movie rocked my socks soo hard... one of the best road movies ever imo. mysterious, darkly funny, scifi adventure that makes you feel very distinctly and introspective by the end... simply amazing

also try interstate 60, bottle rocket or Highway if you liked this :)

I agree, keepitgoan; this is exactly the kind of movie that I like the best. So many odd things keep happening in it, all under the constant threat of imminent danger, that we can never really be sure what is really going on. I'm not one of those people who needs everything tied up with a neat little bow at the end. Merely some hints or implications like the ones in The Big Empty are fine with me. I will definitely check out the other movies you listed. Thanks.

Why are people obsessed that movies must explain everything and not leave open to intepretation. Go watch a simple movie with a simple plot like Avatar.

Actually, films like this one represent just lazy writing. Films that don't "explain everything and leave open to intepretation" are Cache or Mothman Prophecies, because they are well written. This one doesn't want to say anything, it just wants to look intelligent.

So i take it you either dont like movies that are smart then? i guess you are unable to use you brain during the movie and figure some things out and everything has to be spoonfed to you?

Late to game on this one... However, did you even watch it???????!!?? Your obviously clueless on the Indie experience. WELL done and rather F/U alone the way to being strangely entertaining...
