So I was re-watching American Dreams Season 1 these past couple of nights and I never noticed how hated Patty is in the house. At first I thought it was just between her and Meg, the usual sister bickering but a few times in the season it's almost like everyone dislikes her. It's kinda sad

Actually i think they didnt hate Patty it was that they were sick of her smart alickness and kmow it all attitude.
But i do agree with you, they should have kept the show on. Or at least release season 2 and 3 on DVD.

She did get a little less annoying as the show progressed, but she was pretty obnoxious during the first season. This show had something that is missing from the shows currently shown on tv. There could have been even more interesting storylines if it would have continued.

My mother grew up in a family similar to this (same times, she was the second of four in a strict Catholic family, etc), and I think Patty reminded her of things lol. At some point in nearly every episode (it was a favorite we watched together), my mom would say "Patty is such a pain."
