Oh it was called for. You both thanked "God" that Bebop and Rocksteady weren't in the new show. Any "God" who doesn't think Bebop and Rocksteady belong in the new show isn't fit to clean the technodrome's waste disposal system. There is absolutely no reason whatsoever that Bebop and Rocksteady couldn't be adapted to fit into a darker take on the TMNT universe. You guys act like Bebop and Rocksteady were created by Fred Wolf or something. Bebop and Rocksteady were created by the same d*mn people who created the turtles themselves, Kevin Eastmen and Peter Laird. Not to mention the fact that Bebop and Rocksteady started out as very violent and sadistic characters anyway. Just because they became watered down in a few of the seasons doesn't mean the characters need to be disposed of entirely. If that was the case then why don't we get rid of Shredder too? He got watered down just as much as Bebop and Rocksteady did. While we're at it why don't we just get rid of Michaelangelo for carrying a grappling hook for a while instead of his nunchucks? Hell, why don't we bury the entire TMNT franchise? After all anything that had any humor in it at all at any point int the entirity of it's history can't possible ever have a meaningful plot. If we followed the thinking patterns of the Bebop and Rocksteady haters to their logical conclusions then that is what we would have to do. I hope you feel stupid now.

shareThe insults to everyone were not called for. Especially the one about God. God doesn't deserve that just because some fan can't get over some how same made up story and characters are handled. Rocksteady and Bebop could be adapted to other turtle adaptations beside the 87 cartoon, but not as you may think. They could be members of the Purple Dragon Street Gang, which means they would still be human and not mutants. But still I don't know if Laird would do it because (1.) Fans (especially hardcore ones) of the 87 cartoon would be whining and complaining that 'they weren't made right', just as many complained about the other characters when this series premiered, and (2.) Laird would be pestered even more to include even more "mutant duos" like Tokka and Razar, Wingnut & Screwloose, Muckman and Joe Eyeball, Groundchuck & Dirtbag or some other character from the orginal series. Eastman and Laird may have created Rocksteady and Bebop but Fred Wolf made them, as well as all of the other "Mutant Duos" characters and possibly "Ray" Fillet, into the characters we know today. Also why is it fans of the original series go BERSERK when a project is different than what they have seen before and/or true to the source material, all without giving the particular project a fair chance? Also I would have loved it if The Utrom Shredder actually was never seen again after Exodus. After all they did get rid of Shredder in the comics early on.
shareWell "God" is a fictional character, so he's the last one you should be worried about. As for the rest of the insults, well this is the internets so get used to it. I was obviously joking. No one wants to see anyone die a slow and painful death. Now what you were saying about Bebop and Rocksteady as human members of the purple dragons, I have to say that, as a fan of the 87 toon, I wouldn't have minded that at all. In fact when I was reading about the creation of the new toon before 2003 and they mentioned that the purple dragons were going to be in it I was happy because I thought that meant that Bebop and Rocksteady were going to be in it for sure. After all, they started out in the original toon as human members of the purple dragons. Also I never said that I didn't like the new series. I do like it. I liked the 2007 film as well. I just wish Bebop and Rocksteady would start getting the recognition that they deserve.
