What would you want in s5?

-I'm one of the few that wanted Ephram to go to Julliard. I wanted him to refine his skills and learn more about the art, and /then/ go on to teach. So, for season 5, I'd love it if he still taught his students piano, but at the same time worked on his audition for Julliard.

-I know Madison was meant to return, I would love that.
--> they could deal with some baby drama, of wanting their son back etc.

-Delia could get some type of illness? Nothing too serious, but something that could require Madison's attention. It could bring the family back under the Brown roof.

-I want Amy to have another relationship, while Ephram and Madison are together.

-Bright and Hannah could slowly build up a relationship again. Maybe this time Hannah does something wrong, which Bright has to forgive her for.

-Nina could plan a wedding for most of the season.

-Edna has to deal with her depression, and handle being alone.

Finale:
Ephram and Amy get back together, and Madison moves back to NY.
Nina and Andy's wedding, and some old guests can return for the wedding.

I agree that Ephram attempting Juillard again would be a great thing to explore in Season 5. If the show had lasted longer--at least 7 or 8 seasons--it would have been nice to watch Ephram grow into a mature, disciplined young man. He ended Season 4 in a good place, but imagine how much powerful it would have been if there were more seasons and more time to portray that transformation.

I don't know how I feel about the idea of Madison coming back. I know they were definitely planning that if Season 5 had come to fruition, but I don't know...something about that relationship just never clicked. I really liked her character, but even for that short frame of time that they were together and happy, it was never truly a solid pairing. Madison always felt guilty about the whole thing, Ephram was too clingy, and she wasn't ready for that kind of serious relationship...with anyone. I guess it's possible that they could have matured and tried again after a few years, but personally, I was never "feeling" it with them. And I can't picture them fighting to get their baby back. Maybe Ephram would have wrestled with some guilt and desire to know his son, but Madison seemed pretty confident with that decision. She clearly didn't want to be a mother at that point in her life, and she's too rational a person to try taking him away from his adoptive family two years later.

I definitely would have liked to see more of Delia, too, as she approached her teen years. The writers never seemed to have much room for her, with all the other storylines going on. It would have been nice to see her evolve into a mature, responsible young woman, instead of taking the traditional "bratty, mouthy teenager" route. Never thought about the illness thing, but that might have been a way to get more of her into the storylines. Or maybe she would encounter some emotional problems and, like you said, that would be an opening for Madison to come back and help her through.

Seeing Edna adapt to single life without Irv would have been interesting, too. Debra Mooney is such a great and believable actress who knew how to pull off that whole spectrum of emotions. I would have liked to see more of Harold and Rose dealing with starting all over again as parents to baby Lily. Maybe in Season 5, they could portray their struggle to officially adopt her...and perhaps the birth mother would return just as they were starting to thrive in their new roles as parents.

I always liked Bright and Hannah together...would have liked to see them reconcile, and for Nina and Andy to have their wedding. Maybe they could have even had a baby together...although that might have been a bit of a stretch, since Andy was already in his 50's.

As for Amy, I always loved the Ephram/Amy endgame and wouldn't want to change any of that, but if the show had gone another season, maybe they could shown her being single for a while as she continued adapting to college life. Assuming that Madison returned to Ephram's life, maybe Amy would put the whole romance thing behind her and focus on other areas of her life.

I like both your ideas and both would have made a good season five. I just want to comment on the Madison Ephram relationship. At 17 and 20 it is awkward and everything Rosetek said is true, But in season 5 it would have been Ephram 20 and Madison 23 or 24. A vastly different playing field. Now Ephram would be her equal.

I for one would have liked to seen it.

Bright cheating on Hannah was out of character. He was to much in love with her, but the same writer who wrote that had Andie cheat on Pacey; which was totally out of character

I would have wanted to see Ephram in Julliard some more too.
