More slick , more sexy! J.J. Abrams is a bit too Jewey and it shows in this picture. John Woo was a better director.
shareAfter listening to the commentary for 2 and 3 I came to appreciate 2 more and overall think the action is more fun in 2. Also J.J. Abrams is a hack filmmaker nowadays, probably always was.

shareNot at all, actually this one I liked more than both 1 and 2. Sure, it feels like Hoffman is a bit underutilized as a villain, but it is the best MI villain up to that point of the franchise, and Hoffman is just too big for that role anyway. It didn't make me care about the plot but it is better than the totally basic plot of 2. Modern filmmaking, good tempo and successfully hiding its PG-13ness - three things at which 2 fails.
What I didn't like was the last act. Very underwhelming, sometimes even cringey. Overall, not a memorable movie, but still an improvement.
