When they take Steve away at the end, what exactly happens to him? They mention machinery or something; I can't remember exactly since it's been a while since I saw the film, but...

They never show it, but they were Ukrainian mobsters, so it is implied by the machinery line that Steve gets tortured.

According to the original script, they hack his limbs off and bury him while he's still alive. Pretty messed up for a PG-13 movie.
