Is this in any way related to the game series?

And don't forget about when it shows flashes of the game when going between scenes a few times (not sure if those were clips from the actual game, though...haha?!).

Actually most of those images were from the sequels. There were few images from the first House of the Dead game.

Well, you find out one of the characters at the end is "Curien." You know... of the "1998 Curien case?"

But the Curien in the games was a geneticist in his mid to late thirties, while the titular "house" was Curien Mansion, not a beachshack.
